I started sharing my outfits here on Substack a year ago (!) so that I could try to cut down my time on Instagram. While I did a “favorites of 2024” outfit post, I haven’t posted any other outfits (except for our lively and amazing Friday outfit threads here in the chat - join us!) since December! Because of that, there are quite a few and so I tried to make the post less daunting by having a few outfits in each image.
Notes: these outfits aren’t planned, posed, or otherwise staged, just what I wore. If I didn’t take a pic of my outfit, that means I was wearing leggings. I’ll include where items are from and will link directly to them for paid subscribers at the end, but note that while I won’t recommend an item unless it’s size inclusive up to 3X, since these are items I own and not recommendations, some of them may not be as inclusive. Some of the links in this post are affiliate links which may earn me a commission at no cost to you.
I tried to group the outfits by theme if I could find one! Here are all my blue top outfits.
The first three are with a secondhand Old Navy sweater, and the last is a vintage denim top. The necklace in the third image is from the Oakland Museum White Elephant sale, and I made the last one out of chew beads. The jeans in the third pic are thrifted men’s jeans and the bucket bag in the last pic is from Hyer Goods. I’ll link other pants and shoes at the end.
I wore this thrifted and cropped (by me) chartreuse sweatshirt a. lot. Both the striped shirts underneath and the red scarf are thrifted.
These outfits all have denim or some blue in them (sorry, I’m stretching to make a theme work here!). All of the tops here are secondhand, the last one is the Oust top from Rachel Comey.
These last few outfits have absolutely nothing in common. I wore the first outfit on the left for about 20 minutes because both the sweater and pants were making my skin so uncomfortable. The pants were ones I’d thrifted and tried to make work, but they really need a new elastic in the waist and I’m not sure I’m up for it. The second pic is maybe my favorite outfit of the whole post, it’s just very me. Again, all of these tops, except for the white tee under the tan sweater, are secondhand.
Whew! That’s all for this time. Let me know what you think! Paid subscribers, read on for the direct links.
What’s been your favorite outfit you’ve worn recently?
P.S. If you want my input on your own wardrobe, my Making Space group is one of the best ways to get it. It’s an 8 week asynchronous group program during which I lead you through defining your style, editing your wardrobe, and learning to shop mindfully. This year, because of scheduling, I’m going to combine the spring and summer groups, so there will be fewer spots than usual. The fee is a sliding scale from $397-$797. I won’t be mentioning it too many times here, so make sure you’re on the waitlist to get info and early access for the next round.
