Life has been hectic lately. I’d quiet switched the day of the week I publish on (Wednesday instead of Tuesday so I don’t have to scramble on Monday) since I’m the boss around here, but last week a post didn’t go out until Friday and it’s unclear whether I’ll be able to get this one out today (Thursday).

Speaking of Substack schedules, not only will we be visiting my sister in Hood River for two weeks in July, but my book is due July 31st. I’ll definitely be quieter here for a few weeks.

In today’s post, I thought I’d just share a bit of what’s been going on in my personal life, what I’ve liked recently, all that good stuff.

The company Stubhub has been occupying way too much space in my head lately. It’s just that it’s a completely unethical company who is screwing over hundreds, if not thousands of people during this World Cup (and for plenty of other events). They allow sellers to list tickets for sale that they don’t actually own and then do nothing when the buyer finds out the day of the event that the tickets don’t exist. This happened to us in Kansas City for a World Cup game between Argentina and Algeria. A week later, it happened to an IRL friend in Miami. I’ve been interviewed by a Kansas City tv station, mentioned in a letter to Congress, and I’m speaking to reporters from Inside Edition and Reuters in the next few days.

After the paywall, what we’re doing about our kids’ faces on the internet, their screen time, what I’ve been using to do my nails, travel I have coming up, and how I did on my last minute solo writing retreat.
