Sometimes life feels hard because of the decisions involved. I hate doing the grocery shopping because literally every item on the list is a decision to make. We need ketchup? Ok, do I get store brand or name brand? Heinz or Hunt’s? Organic or high fructose corn syrup? Big or small? Sriracha or plain? It’s all too much. It’s the same with clothes - the mental gymnastics are truly exhausting. It’s why a neutral capsule-ish wardrobe worked so well for me for so long.

Over the last few months, I’ve given more conscious thought to money and my own personal style (currently workshopping “colorful creative Copenhagen mom” as a style descriptor) than I have in a long time. It’s not that I don’t like my clothes, but there wasn’t much in my wardrobe that I was excited to wear or that sparked joy. I’ve been craving not only color, but uniqueness and specialness. After realizing that I still felt a lot of scarcity around clothes that was making it hard to add the interest and variety I wanted to add to my personal style, I decided to do a crazy thing. Instead of having to make decisions, I would buy anything I wanted in the month of April.
